Holiday Sweaters

Christmas has an specific kind of emphasis on family and cheer that I’ve never been a part of. In that spirit, and in the spirit of Double Negative Publishing, I challenged myself to find something positive about the holiday. I present to you, the Ugly Holiday Sweater.

It doesn’t matter what language it’s in. In my humble opinion, I find the Ugly Holiday Sweater to be one of the precious few honest symbols of the season. Especially the gratuitous aspects that, every year, grow more and more synonymous with the holiday.

I know I’m not alone. My suggestion? Wear your Ugly Holiday Sweaters with pride. There is no better way to acknowledge the cumbersome, gaudy, discord of the heavy juggernaut this holiday has become.

… Also, read Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol … good book for any time of the year … plus, it has muppets. Oh, they’re in there. Disney made it canon. (;
